Jigsaws cut simplyHandcrafted jigsaws are expensive because it takes a long time to make them. Cutting is usually the most time consuming step so ever since puzzles were invented makers have looked for ways of reducing the cutting time. Strip cutting, die stamping, and computer guided cutting systems are all attempts to reduce cutting costs. See the puzzlemakers craft for more information The lowest priced option we offer is to strip cut an image, resulting in a jigsaws in which each piece is shaped like the pieces of a cardboard puzzle.
Our strip cut jigsaws are cut to a general plan but not to a fixed template. We can include some of the special features of handmade jigsaws such as silhouette pieces. On request we will strip cut most images, using one of our images (see gallery), or an image supplied by you. As a rough guide, an A4 (297 x 210 mm) puzzle cut into 150 simple pieces will cost about AUD$95. |
