No surface image, interlocking jigsaws
The point of interest in these puzzles is created by the puzzle outline, or by a simple line drawing represented by discarding slivers of wood (called sculpting). In addition, some jigsaws contain pieces that can be connected in more than one way, and a silhouette piece. Most jigsaws are designed so that there is no obvious up or down side, thus effectively doubling the number of pieces in the puzzle.
